Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday flagged off online payment system for tax collections making payment of property (Holding) tax as easy as payments on e-commerce portals.
The new system will save citizens’ time as they would no longer need to visit ward offices and stand in queues. They can currently make payments using net banking as Patnaik launched Online Property Tax Module that will facilitate payment of tax anytime anywhere and Municipal Premier League, a unique transformative endeavour, which will facilitate ULBs to enhance their own revenue collections.
People of Bhubaneswar can pay through https://citizenservice.bhubaneswar.me while people in other ULBs can pay using http://www.ulbodisha.gov.in.
The citizens can pay the tax through credit card, debit card, online banking, e-wallet and UPI. The online tax payment services will be available in 114 urban local bodies (ULBs), including the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) across the State.
Launching the programmes of the Housing and Urban Development Department at the Convention Centre in Lokseva Bhawan here the Chief Minister congratulated the department for giving shape to one of the important 5T targets.
“It has been endeavour of my Government to deliver all the public services at the doorsteps of people using technology. Online property tax module facilitating payment anytime anywhere is a very good initiative. I am sure; people residing in urban areas will be immensely benefitted,” said Patnaik.
“Enhancing own revenues of our cities is very important to encourage higher investments, ensure better amenities and enhance the living conditions of urbanities,” said Patnaik.
Two video documentaries, one on Online Property Tax Module and other on Municipal Prelier League were screened. The CM also unveiled the MPL Winner’s Trophy.
