New MEMU services from Feb 12 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to introduce new Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) service in Odisha.

As per an ECoR statement, it has been decided to run MEMU train by replacing earlier conventional coaches of Kendujhargarh-Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh Passenger Train (58425/58426) February 12.

On introduction of new MEMU train, the services of old passenger train will be discontinued and run with new numbers. This train will run as Kendujhargarh-Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh (68425/68426) MEMU from both the directions February 12 from Bhubaneswar and February 13 from Kendujhargarh by replacing the earlier conventional coaches, it said.

However, there will be no change in the timings and stoppages for this train between Kendujhargarh and Bhubaneswar.

This apart, it has been decided to augment four additional MEMU coaches to Puri-Angul-Puri MEMU (68422/68421) permanently from February 11 from Puri and February 12 from Angul taking into account rush of daily commuters. Now, this MEMU train will run with 16 coaches instead of 12 coaches. This will be the longest MEMU trainin Odisha area, it added.
