Bhubaneswar: The Assembly was adjourned till 11.30 am after BJP MLAs created ruckus for not executing lottery system for members to ask questions during the Question Hour.
As soon as the House met for the day to transact business at 10.30 am, BJP members, the main opposition force in the House, rushed into the well of the House protesting the non-execution of lottery system for them to put questions to Ministers in the Assembly.
They demanded that Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro gave an immediate ruling for execution of the system to facilitate BJP MLAs to put questions.
The Speaker requested the members to back to their seats and tried to go ahead with the Question Hour. However, the BJP members did not budge and intensified their sloganeering.
Unable to run the House the Speaker adjourned the House till 11.30 am.
The second day of the Budget Session on Saturday was almost washed away due to ruckus created by BJP and Congress members in protest against the Speaker’s ruling that asked the media not to publish the name of the MLAs who protested in the Well of the House.
