Odisha opens control room for effective implementation of lockdown

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Thursday opened a 24×7 control room to monitor the issues with regard to implementation of the 21-day lockdown enforced to combat the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the State.

Senior IPS officer and IG (Operations) Amitabh Thakur will supervise the overall functioning of the control room. State Home Department issued an order to this effect today.

“In view of the COVID-19, it has been decided that a control room (0674-2392115/943891586) shall function in the Home Department round the clock w.e.f. 26.03.2020. The control room will monitor issues with regard to the implementation of lockdown. Issues pertaining to Odias elsewhere in the country can also be raised with the control room. Amitabh Thakur, IPS, IGP (Operations) shall supervise the overall functioning of the Control Room,” said the Home Department order.
