Bhubaneswar’s Coronavirus-affected Bomikhal area sanitised

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of three positive cases emerging out from Bomikhal alone and the subsequent sealing of the area to contain any further community level spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday carried out a massive disinfection work with the help of Odisha Fire Services Department.

Three persons from Bomokhal tested positive for the disease on Friday night.

Four fire tenders were engaged during the day (three big and one small) to spray sodium hypochlorite solution in the area. It can be mentioned here that apart from the sealed localities BMC has also carried out disinfection work in major thoroughfares and areas across the city.

Mechanical sweeping was also carried out in Bomikhal area surrounding the roads starting from Cafe Coffee Day lane near Ekamra Talkies to Canal Road in Jharpada, Canal Road to Durga Puja Mandap and Durga Puja Mandap Square to the DCB Bank Square on Cuttack Road and from DCB Bank Square to Cafe Coffee Day lane near Ekamra Talkies.

Not only Bomikhal, but to continue the uninterrupted sanitation work across the city the civic body issued 3,000 passes to sanitation workers.
