Sixteen new COVID-19 cases in Bhubaneswar, tally rises to 39 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The total number of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Odisha has gone up to 39 as 16 more persons  from Bhubaneswar, tested Coronavirus positive on Sunday, Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department said.

“16 more COVID positive cases confirmed in Bhubaneswar,” tweeted the H&FW Department in the evening. Now, there are 37 active cases in the State. Two COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged.

Of the total 39 positive cases, the State capital Bhubaneswar reported 32 cases alone. While Bhadrak reported three positive cases, Puri, Cuttack, Jajpur and Kalahandi reported one each.

Earlier in the day, two positive cases, including a 70-year-old Australia-returned man tested coronavirus positive in Bhubaneswar.

While a 70-year-old Australia-returned man from Kapil Prasad Housing Board Colony Phase-II Colony, who was in home quarantine after he returned from March 22, tested positive for the disease the 29-year-old man from Bomikhal tested positive for the disease during active surveillance.

Earlier, three brothers from Bomikhal area tested positive for the COVID-19.
