Four more West Bengal returnees test positive for Covid-19 in Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar: Four more people who returned from West Bengal and came to Bhadrak tested positive for Coronavirus, taking the total number of patients to 16 in the district and 94 in the State.

According to the second bulletin of the Information and Public Relations Department, of the four cases, two each belongs to Tihidi and Dhamnagar blocks.

“Four New Positive Cases in Bhadrak. 40 Yrs Male, 29 Yrs Male, 41 Yrs Male & 24 Yrs Male. Two each from Tihidi and Dhamnagar Blocks. (All West Bengal Returnees). Contact tracing and follow up action is being done. Total Positive Cases: 94,” tweeted I&PR Department.

On Thursday, the State Government enforced a complete shutdown in Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts for 60 hours after they witnessed a spurt in Covid-19 cases. The shutdown came into effect from 10 pm on Thursday.

Of the 30 cases reported in the State in last six days, 29 are from these three districts. The positive cases belong to either those who had returned from West Bengal or their close contacts.

Of the 94 cases, 33 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
