Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Monday requested media persons not to visit the point of arrivals – railway stations and checkpoints – of migrant workers and the quarantine or isolation centres.

“In view of the permission of the Government of India, allowing migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons to return to home States, large number of Odias may return to the State through road and rail route. Arrangements are being made for their reception, health screening and their smooth passage to respective districts,” said an advisory issued by the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department Director Krupasindhu Mishra.

“Keeping in mind the personal safety and health of media personnel and containment of any possible infection, all media personnel are requested not to visit the point of arrival i.e. railway stations or check points and quarantine centre or isolation centre,” said the advisory.

Appreciating the support of the media houses in this extraordinary situation, the I&PR Department assured that all relevant photographs and the news brief regarding the arrival of Odias who were stuck in other parts of the country will be shared with all the media houses. It requested the media personnel to follow the guidelines for containment of Covid-19.
