Bhubaneswar, January 6: So far, no case of bird flu has been reported in the State, said Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra here on Wednesday.
Amidst the bird flu scare in several parts of the country, the Chief Secretary today reviewed the possible bird flu scenario in the State and said that till today there has been no outbreak of the disease in the State.
“Around 11,000 samples collected from different parts of the State have been tested and no case has been found positive,” said Mohapatra.
He directed the concerned officials to intensify the surveillance activities. He also directed officials to form Rapid Response Team at State and District level for mitigating any possible outbreak.
“It has been clarified that people may not be apprehensive. State Administration stands ready to counter and control any possible outbreak,” said Mohapatra.
