Navy Wives’ Welfare Association celebrates 35th NWWA Diwas

New Delhi, February 19: The Navy Wives’ Welfare Association (NWWA) celebrated the 35th NWWA Diwas at Chankya Bagh Grounds, New Delhi from February 16 to 18.

The three-day event was celebrated with restricted number of participants each day, who performed mass yoga.

On the occasion, Tata Institute of Social Sciences Early Child Development course certificates were also given away to successful candidates by NWWA president Geetha Ashok. She also felicitated the helpers for their contribution towards smooth functioning of the welfare centres.

On the occasion of NWWA Diwas, two NWWA awards were announced namely the NWWA Star given to NWWA Members for outstanding community Service or bravery and the NWWA Bright Spark Award for young innovators upto the age of 18 years.

For 2020-21, NWWA Star has been awarded to Princy Berson from Southern Region for outstanding community service in imparting education to the underprivileged and Indu Sah, from Eastern Region, for her outstanding contribution towards environmental conservation.

The NWWA president presented the NWWA Bright Spark award for 2020-21 to Master Samrat Vashisht from NCS Delhi for his outstanding innovation in environmental conservation.

Another awardee was Master Spandan Karwade from NCS Kochi for his outstanding innovation in Information Technology.
