Odisha clamps night curfew in 10 districts as COVID-19 cases surge

Bhubaneswar, April 3: The Odisha Government on Saturday clamped night curfews in 10 districts of the State – Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri – in view of the rising COVID-19 cases in the State.

“The night curfew will be in force between 10 PM and 5 PM from April 5 onwards till further orders,” stated an official release.

Movement of individuals, shops commercial establishments, offices and institutions will remain closed during this period.

The State has reported 452 new cases of COVID-19 today. Highest 77 cases were detected in Khurda district followed by 75 in Sundergarh and 71 in Nuapada.
