Bhubaneswar, May 13: Odisha on Thursday registered 10,649 new COVID-19 positive cases, 8,547 new recoveries and 19 fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the State Health and Family Welfare Department.
The fresh cases took the State’s cumulative count to 5,76,297. The State’s active cases stood at 1,00,313 while the total death toll in the State climbed to 2,251.
Of the new cases, 5,965 infections have been detected from quarantines centres while 4,684 are local contacts.
As many as 4,73,680 patients have recovered from the disease so far, with 8,547 new recoveries being reported in last 24 hours.
Khurda, of which Bhubaneswar is a part, reported 1,557 new cases followed by Cuttack (930), Sundergarh (774), Angul (557), Balasore (503), Sambalpur (494), Mayurbhanj (404), Nayagarh reported 357, Puri(335), Nuapada (331), Jharsuguda (368), Jajpur (307) and Bargarh (391).
