Odisha detects two Omicron cases

Bhubaneawar, December 21: Two cases of the newly detected Omicron variant of COVID-19 have been detected in Odisha after the variant was confirmed following genome sequencing.

According to reports, a person who have recently returned from Nigeria and another returned from Qatar tested positive for Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the State.

Sources said the two male persons aged 41 and 43 are the residents of Jagatsinghpur district. They have been admitted to Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack. All the seven persons, who have come in contact with them, have been tested negative.
