Bhubaneswar, February 10: An all-party meeting was organised at the Special Circuit House here to invite suggestions and comments over the preliminary booth list for the civic body elections.
Chaired by Bhubaneswar Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Prafulla Kumar Swain, the discussion was held on locations of booths and ward-wise booth distribution.
Suggestions were invited regarding the draft document shared with the parties present in the meeting. As per the document there are 699 booths in 219 locations spread over 67 wards of the city. Mostly Government and semi-Government buildings have been enlisted for booths and final publication date of booth list is February 14.
It was requested to the party representatives to deposit their suggestions in prescribed format by 12th of the month if they have suggestions. Additional Commissioner BMC Binaya Kumar Dash and Deputy Commissioner BMC Srimanta Mishra were on the dais where they facilitated the discussion with party dignitaries.
Party dignitaries present in the meeting were Madhu Sudan Yadav, State General Secretary of Bahujan Samaj Party, Harekrushna Khuntia State Executive member of Bharatiya Janata Party; Sura Jena, secretary Bhubaneswar Communist Party of India;Shivananda Ray of Indian National Congress,Bikram Swain General Secretary of Nationalist Congress Party, Sulata Deo, spokesperson of Biju Janata Dal.
