Koraput, July 20: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha crime branch on Wednesday seized a leopard skin and arrested one wildlife criminal.
The accused has been identified as Mana Gouda, a resident of Goudaguda village under Baipariguda police limits in Koraput.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of STF, with the help of Ramgiri forest officials, conducted a raid near Ramgir Gupteswar Gate under Ramagiri Wildlife Range and seized the leopard skin from the possession of the accused.
The accused person could not produce any authority in support of possessing the leopard skin following which he was arrested, said a STF release.
Since 2020, STF has seized as many as 30 leopard skins and arrested 43 wildlife criminals.
