Bhubaneswar, November 30: The State Government has decided t0 conduct internal assessment of all the Aahaar Centres. These centres provide cooked hot meals – steamed rice and dalma- to the poor and needy people at the cost of Rs 5 in urban areas across Odisha.
“As part of the Community participation agenda, operation and management of all the 167 Aahaar Centres being operated in urban areas has been handed over to Mission Shakti SHGs. In order to ensure quality of services and maintain hygiene of food served to people-centred services, Govt. has decided to conduct internal assessment of all the Aahaar Centres,” said Aahaar OSD Sarada Prasad Panda. Professional from State team also participated in the programme.
Ahead of the assessment drive, an orientation programme on the assessment process was conducted on Wednesday for the Mission Shakti SHGs engaged in O&M of AAHAAR Centres, DUDA Experts of all districts and City Mission Managers of 115 ULBs under the Chairmanship of Joint Secretary to Government and OSD AAHAAR Sarada Prasad Panda. Professional from State team also participated in the programme.
Panda deliberated a detailed matrix ensuring quality standards, hygiene, and performance based evaluation. Stressing upon timely monitoring and evaluation, he advised the team to closely coordinate at each and every Aahaar Centre and immediately flag issues if any and address it. Professionals were advised to complete the assessment in schedule time.
