Bhubaneawar, January 17: Two minor girls aged 12 and 14 years were allegedly gang raped near Patia railway station here on Monday night.
The heinous crime came to the fore after their parents on registered a complaint with the GRP on Tuesday, with the help of Childline.
According to the complaint, the two survivors live in Patia area. On Monday night they had gone to the Patia railway station, when two persons of their locality abducted the minor girls from station and took them to the railway overbridge nearby. There, they tied them up with a rope and raped them for the whole night.
They were released by the miscreants on Tuesday morning. After reaching their homes, they narrated their ordeal before their parents. When the parents asked the accused persons about the incident, they tried to suppress the matter by offering money.
After listening to everything, they took the matter up with the Childline who in turn informed the concerned zone ACP and Infocity Police Station.
Since, the incident took place under the jurisdiction of the GRP, the mother of one of the survivors lodged a complaint with the GRP, with the help of Childline officials,.
After registering a case, the GRP have launched a probe into the case.
