Hota awarded PhD for thesis on Vivekananda

Sambalpur, April 12: Senior OPS officer and Nabarangpur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chandrashekhar Hota was awarded a PhD by the Gangadhar Meher University here on Wednesday. The doctorate was awarded for Hota’s thesis on ‘Swami Vivekananda and Vivekananda Kendra’.

Hota received the doctorate degree from Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal during the third convocation ceremony of the university here.

The 2016-batch OPS officer said the teachings of Swami Vivekananda are more relevant today.

“I always give emphasis on adopting the path of righteousness shown by Swami Vivekananda to have a better tomorrow,” said Hota, an eminent litterateur, critic, and Kendra Sahitya Akademi Yuva Purashkar award winner.

He elaborated the mission of the Vivekananda Kendra, focusing on ‘man making’ and ‘nation building’.
