Bhubaneswar, November 14: A 57-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) for raping his minor daughter. The court also imposed on him a fine of Rs 10,000 and directed the State Government to pay Rs 4 lakh compensation to the girl.
Ad Hoc Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), SK Sahoo passed the judgment on Tuesday.
Convict Siba Patra had raped his 10-year-old school-going daughter at home in Kalinga Basti under Capital Police station on April 14, 2018.
He was also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000. In default, he would undergo RI for a further period of one year.
