Mahashivaratri: Odisha Artist Crafts Miniature Shiva Temple, 108 Shiva Lingas

Bhubaneswar, February 26: Renowned artist L. Eshwar Rao, known for his intricate miniature creations, has once again mesmerized art lovers with his latest work for Mahashivaratri. Keeping up with his tradition of creating unique artworks every year, Rao has meticulously crafted a 7-inch tall and 5.5-inch-wide Shiva temple using chalk and paper.

The miniature temple, a result of 15 days of dedication and precision, houses four Shiva idols, each measuring just 0.5 cm. In addition, the temple features more than 25 chalk-carved idols of various gods and goddesses, including 1-inch figures of Lord Ganesh, Goddess Parvati, Lord Kartik, and Nandi. As a tribute to Lord Shiva, Rao has also prepared 108 clay-made Shiva Lingas, symbolizing devotion and artistic brilliance.

Rao utilized 324 pieces of chalk and 21 paper sticks to construct this breathtaking creation. His passion for art and devotion to Mahashivaratri shines through his work, inspiring many in the artistic and spiritual community.

“Through my art, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyous Mahashivaratri to all,” said Rao, expressing his deep reverence for the occasion.

This remarkable artwork not only showcases Rao’s exceptional craftsmanship but also highlights the beauty of traditional artistry in modern times.
