Bhubaneswar, June 22: Keeping in view the safety of passengers and railway authorities, one Automatic Ticket Checking & Managing Access (ATMA) system installed at Bhubaneswar Railway station. The ATMA system is based on information technology (IT) which will support effective screening of passengers for temperature and checking of tickets from a safe distance by staff at entry and exit points.
The ATMA system is having four features – barcode scanner to scan QR code of IRCTC based train tickets, One speaker, through which the passenger can speak out the PNR No, a Temperature scanner to measure the temperature of the passenger entering into the station and a camera which will ensure whether the passenger is wearing mask or not.
The ticket checking staff deployed can check all the four parameters from a safe distance from passengers thus ensuring that only bonafide passengers are entering into the Railway station and also prevents the spread of COVID-19 infection.
This Automatic Ticket Checking & Managing Access (ATMA) system was provided by the Paradip Phosphate Limited (PPL), Bhubaneswar under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme at Bhubaneswar Railway station.
One more such ATMA system will be installed at Puri Railway station by PPL and one at Jajpur-Keonjhar road Railway station by Visa Steel Limited, Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur under CSR scheme in the near future.
The Khurda road division is adopting every innovative scheme in consultation with the corporate setups for the safety of passengers and staff.
