Bhubaneswar, January 10: The street light facility on 1.3 km-long Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Nagar Railway Flyover was inaugurated on Monday here.
Bhubaneawar (North) MLA Susanta Kumar Rout launched the facility installed by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
“We have been able to do the job in a war footing manner for which citizens of the area can have a relaxed journey on the flyover,” said BMC Commissioner Sanjaya Kumar Singh.
The project implementation took about one month for completion. Under the project total 46 galvanized poles have been installed with 70 watt LED light in each pole. In a total stretch of 1.3 km flyover, each pole has 27 metre distance from other, said BMC Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) Sukant Kumar Sabat.
The operation and maintenance of the street lights will be done by the agency namely E Smart Lighting for consecutive seven years.
