Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, December 21: BJP MLAs from Odisha on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.
Led by Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly Jaynarayan Mishra, the saffron party lawmakers reportedly discussed with the PM about the strategies for the upcoming elections.
As part of preparations for the simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly elections in 2024, BJP leaders are camping in the national capital for meetings with top central leaders.
The BJP MLAs and senior leaders are scheduled to discuss party plan for 2024 with BJP president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, among others.
Though the BJP is the principal opposition party in Odisha, its central leaders have not been aggressive against the ruling BJD, especially since 2019 in the State.
Prime Minister Modi has not addressed any public meeting in the State in more than four years. After its victory in recent Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, the BJP camp is upbeat and intends to put up an aggressive fight against the ruling BJD led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
