Odisha Govt increases retirement age of Kendu leaf seasonal staff to 62

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Thursday increased the retirement age of Kendu leaf seasonal staff to 62 years from 60.

Around 18,028 seasonal staff like head checkers, circle checkers, checkers, Munshies, Chaprashis, Binding Moharirs employees of 19 kendu leaf divisions will be benefitted now.

A notification was issued to this effect on Thursday after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave his nod to a proposal. The move assumed significance as the State is going for simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls due by May.
