Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced names of 18 MLA candidates. Total 117 candidates announced so far by the BJD.
Senior BJP leader Damodar Rout’s son Sambit Routray will contest from Paradip. While Maheswar Mohanty will fight from Puri Assembly constituency, Debashis Samantaray will contest from Cuttack-Barabati.
Salipur MLA Chandrasarathy Behera this time was shifted to Sadar Cuttack. Former jagatsinghpur MLA Bishnu Das was shifted to Tirtol. Dhruba Sahu will contest from Rajnagar, Amar Satpathy from Barchana, Sudam Marandi from Bangiriposi, Bibhuti Balabantray from Jatani, Rina Tanti from Rengali, Golak Nayak from Jashipur, Amar Singh Tudu from Saraskana, Srinath Soren from Udala, Jiban Pradip Das from Balasore, Ashwini Patra from Jaleswar, respectively.
Earlier today, Congress too announced candidates for 20 Assembly constituencies and seven more Lok Sabha candidates.
