Cuttack: Skill Development and Technical Education (SD&TE) Minister Premananda Nayak on Saturday visited Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Khapuria here and asked the teachers to impart improved training to make youth job-ready.
This was the Minister’s first to the State-run institute after assuming charge of the Skill Development and Technical Education Department in May.
The Minister visited workshops, classrooms, labs and interacted with the students and staff.
Interacting with the students, the Minister said that that providing employment to youths of the State was the priority of the State Government. To insure this, the Government was taking every possible effort to make youths skilled and job-ready, he added.
Department Director Raghu G and ITI Principal Hursikesh Mohanty were present during the Minister’s visit.
Notably, in order to update skill of the trainees, the State-run institute had signed MoU with Toyota Kirloskar Ltd., TATA MOTORS and with Maruti Suzuki. Engineers of these companies are imparting practical training to the trainees.
