Sep 19: NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Dr Arvind Panagariya on Monday said true
empowerment of people can be achieved only when their income level goes up. He
suggested that both Union state governments must work in tandem to ensure that
various schemes and programmes aimed economic growth of the people are
implemented in right spirit.

the three-day Odisha Vikash Conclave here in the city, Dr Panagariya said the
best way to enable people increase their income is to empower them with quality
education.

be no better way other than imparting quality education to people to empower
them achieve higher growth rate. Once they are empowered, they would afford for
good food, cloth and houses which would contribute to the building of a great

economy grows, it generates incomes and directly empower people. Apart from

Stating that
Odisha made significant progress in poverty reduction in the last few years and
achieved higher economic growth rate in recent years, Panagariya said this
tempo should be maintained.

requested the Niti Ayoga VC to hold a similar interface with civil society
representatives in New Delhi for preparing a roadmap of sustainable
