Bhawanipatna: Maa Manikeshwari University’s Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), recently organized an invited lecture under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nibedita Nath. The lecture, titled “From Data to Decision – Analytics for Maternal and Child Well-Being,” focused on the use of data analytics to improve health outcomes for women and children.
Dr. Shubhashree Darshan, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Applications at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, delivered the lecture. She presented an in-depth discussion on healthcare informatics, clinical text mining, environmental data modeling, and artificial intelligence, while highlighting how data-driven approaches can improve maternal and child well-being.
The program was inaugurated by Assistant Professor Nakul Charan Majhi, Head of the Computer Science Department, and coordinated by other faculty members. The event was attended by all students of the Computer Science Department, with active participation from first-year students. Faculty members from other departments were also present.
The lecture concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where the speaker addressed students’ queries and provided practical insights. The program was widely appreciated as a successful and enlightening academic initiative.
