Bhubaneswar, October 21: A control room has been opened at the Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC) office to deal with Cyclone Dana-related issues in the State. A close watch is being kept on the situation through the control room.
Senior IAS officers will be deputed to districts likely to be affected by the impending cyclone. Similarly, NDRF, ODRAF and Fire Services personnel will be moving to Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam and Gajapati districts this evening. These districts are expected to be affected by the impending cyclonic storm.
The State Government will provide necessary assistance once the reports from the Collectors are received by this evening.
Meanwhile, under the influence of yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over North Andaman Sea and adjoining east-central & southeast Bay of Bengal, a Low Pressure Area was formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea in the early morning at 5.30 AM of today.
In view of the impending cyclonic storm, the State Government has cancelled all sorts of leaves of its employees in the State.
