Bhubaneswar, April 30: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has undertaken temporary augmentation of additional coaches in several trains originating from Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur to cater to the increased passenger demand during the summer season.
As part of this initiative, KSR Bengaluru- Prashanti Express (Train No. 18463) will be augmented with one additional 3rd AC coach from 1st to 31st May 2026.
Similarly, Bengaluru – Bhubaneswar Prashanti Express (Train No- 18464 ) will be added one additional 3rd AC coach from 2nd May to 1st June 2026.
The Odisha Sampark Kranti Express (Train No. 12819) from Bhubaneswar to Anand Vihar Terminal will have one extra 3rd AC coach from 3rd May to 31st May 2026.
The Odisha Sampark Kranti Express (Train No. 12820) Anand Vihar Terminal – Bhubaneswar will have one extra 3rd AC coach from 5th May to 2nd June , 2026.
Similarly, the Bhubaneswar -Tirupati Superfast Express (Train No. 22879) will be augmented with one additional 3rd AC coach from 2nd May to 30th May 2026.
Tirupati- Bhubaneswar Superfast Express (Train No.22880) will be augmented with one additional 3rd AC coach from 3rd May to 31st May 2026.
The Sambalpur–Rayagada-Sambalpur Intercity Express (Train No. 18301/18302) will run with one additional AC Chair Car coach from 1st May to 31st May 2026.
Further, the Mahima Gosain Express (Train No. 20832) Sambalpur – Shalimar will run with one Sleeper coach from 3rd May to 31st May 2026.
The Shalimar – Sambalpur (Train No. 20831) will run with one additional Sleeper coach during 4th May to 1st June 2026.
While the Bhubaneswar–Purunakatak Intercity Superfast Express (Train No. 12893) will have two additional General coaches from 1st May to 31st May 2026. Purunakatak – Bhubaneswar Intercity Superfast Express (Train No. 12894) will have two additional General coaches from 2nd May to 1st June 2026.
In addition, the Hirakhand Express (Train No. 18447) running from Bhubaneswar to Jagdalpur will be augmented with one 3rd AC coach from 1st May to 12th May 2026 and from 14th May to 31 st May 2026. Similarly, Jagdalpur- Bhubaneswar Hirakhand express (Train No. 18448) will run with one 3rd AC coach from 2nd May to 13th May 2026 and from 15th May to 1st June 2026.
Puri- Gunupur Express (Train No- 18417) to Express will be augmented with one 2nd class AC- chair Car from 1st May to 31st May 2026. Similarly, Gunupur- Puri express (Train No- 18418) will run with one additional 2nd class AC- chair Car from 2nd May to 1st June 2026 respectively.
This temporary augmentation is expected to enhance accommodation capacity and improve the chances of confirmation for waitlisted passengers during the peak summer travel period.
