Children’s fest Anjali begins

Bhubaneswar: A four-day long 12th Anjali National Children’s Festival was kick started here
at Advasi ground on Monday. More than 6o0 children from various States like
Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Rajasthan, West
Bengal, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha have taken part in the festival.
The event
will culminate on November 14.
On
the inaugural day, the participants both abled and differently-abled took out a
procession from St Joseph High School near Ram Mandir and reached the venue
with a great pomp and joy.

Mohapatra, chief coordinator of Swabhiman, a voluntary organisation that
organises the festival said the main objective in organizing the festival is to
empower disabled children and to help them be a part of mainstream society.
