Three-day NAOP convention from Dec 13 at NIT, RKL

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of National Institute of
Technology (NIT), Rourkela will host three day long 23rd annual convention of
National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) with the theme ‘Psychology in the Service
of Humanity: Theory, Technology and Applications”, India from December 13.
NIT
Director Prof Sunil Kumar Sarangi will be chief guest on the occasion.
The
convention aimed at providing an unique opportunity to the researchers and
practitioners of psychology to examine how the rapid technological advancements
not only influences the material conditions of Indian societies, but also
affects the tools of inquiry that the psychologists use in the laboratory and
outside, to study human mind and behavior, said NIT Secretary (PR) RK Sinha.
NIT,
Rourkela is the first institute in India among all NITs to host the
Annual Convention of NAOP, informed conference convenors Prof Bhaswati Patnaik and
Prof Ramakrishna Biswal.
Around
300 participants comprising of students, scholars and experts from the country
and abroad will attend the event. The convention provides the platform for
exchanging information and discussion on a wide variety of topics, representing
the latest developments and future trends of the discipline of Psychology.
