Odisha farmers, ST leaders meet Union Minister V. Kishore Chandra Deo

Bhubaneswar: Farmer leaders from Odisha led by the anti corruption
activist and great farmer leader Er. Debashisha Hota met the Union Tribal
Affairs and Panchayati Raj Minister V. Kishore Chandra Deo along with
Rajya Sabha MP AV Swamy.
 

The delegation urged the Minister to Include SARA and SAARA
in the list of Scheduled Tribes (ST), declare Dhenkanal district as Phailin and
severe rain affected, Rs 25,000 compensate to all affected farmers, Rs 1 lakh to
all Phailin affected people for construction of hut, fulfilment of all demands
raised by the land-losers within specific timeframe.
Notably, more than 1lakh (Sabara ) poor people of nearly 104
villages in Dhenkanal district were facing miserable situations due to misplace
of their caste from Sabar to Sara or Saara in their latest pattas by the local
Tehsildars during last 30 years.
