at the inaugural session of Odisha Environment Congress (OEC), jointly
organised by the Human Development Foundation (HDF), Centre for Environment and
Development (CED) and Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH) here on Monday.

also said the State Government has taken pioneering step in formulating Climate
Change Action Plan keeping in view of the threat from climate change. The State
has also implemented Coastal Zone Management Plan to protect from severity of
the climate change, he added.

Speaking
on occasion agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan hailed said lauded the State
for conserving several biological hotspots including Bhitarkanika’s mangrove
forest and Koraput’s incredible agriculture heritage which was recently
recognised by the United Nations as Globally Important Agricultural Heritage
System (GIAHS).
