Narayana Health starts work for 1000-bed Bhubaneswar Multispeciality Hospital

Bhubaneswar: Narayana Health, one of India’s largest
multi-speciality hospital chains headquartered in Bangalore on Friday held the
ceremonial groundbreaking for its state-of-the-art 1000-bedded multi-speciality
hospital at Dumduma, Bhubaneswar.

The ceremony was attended by P K Mahapatra, Principal
Secretary, State Health and Family Welfare Department.
“The hospital will mark the committed efforts of the State
Government towards provisioning state-of-the-art tertiary care facilities to
meet the growing demand for quality and affordable healthcare for the masses,”
said Mahapatra.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had laid the foundation stone of
the hospital on September 30, 2012 in presence of Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman,
Narayana Health
Narayana Health has obtained NOCs from concerned agencies
and will be filling the documents for Final Construction Clearance from the BDA
in the immediate future.
Deepak Venugopalan,Zonal Dirctor(East) of teh hospital was
present.
The hospital is expected to set new standards of care,
bringing the latest in healthcare technology and design together with the
medical excellence and compassionate care provided by Narayana Health Group.
“This new hospital will meet the needs of the local
community for generations to come. The new campus will be a modern showcase
facility equipped to provide the highest quality inpatient care and outpatient
services,” said Venugopalan.
The first phase of the project costing Rs 50 crore will have
200 beds across one lakh square feet of built area.  This will be functional by March 2015 . The
project is expected to generate new jobs for hundreds of people in Bhubaneswar
and surrounding communities within the next two years.
