Bhubaneswar: Alleging
massive irregularities in the results of Plus II examinations, which were
published on Saturday, hundreds of students mostly from Science stream and
their guardians gheraoed the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE)
office here demanding speedy reevaluation of answer papers and revision of
marks.

Following the declaration
of the results on Saturday it was seen that many students securing 80 to 90 per
cent marks in other subjects have got only around 10 per cent in papers like
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
“I secured expected
marks in Biology but I was crestfallen to get less than ten marks in Chemistry,”
rued a student.
“The large scale
irregularities in the results prove that the evaluation of answer sheets and
publication of this year’s results were done in most casual and lackadaisical
manner putting the future of many students in disarray. The Government should
take up the issue seriously and ensure speedy reevaluation and revision of
marks within a stipulated time,” said a protesting guardian.
The agitators, however,
relented when CHSE Chairman Basudev Chhatoi assured that all the grievances of
the students would be addressed soon.
“We are sensitive
towards the career of our students. The complaints of erring evaluation would be
investigated,” said Chhatoi.
