Isolation ward for Ebola ready at SCB

Bhubaeswar, October 16: The Odisha Government on Thursday
informed the Centre that it has taken all possible preventive measures as per guidelines
of the Union Government to deal with Ebola virus while an isolation ward at the
SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack has already been opened.
Chief Secretary GC Pati informed this to the Cabinet Secretary
on Thursday during a discussion held through video-conferencing.
The Cabinet Secretary and the Union Health Secretary held a
detailed discussion with Chief Secretary GC Pati and State Health Secretary
Arti Ahuja on the implementation of Ebola guidelines in Odisha. 
According information, the State Government has formed a
technical committee and appointed a nodal officer for the purpose. The ADMOs
have been sensitized on the deadly disease.
Besides, a surveillance team is working at the Biju Patnaik
Airport here to track suspected Ebola patients. If any patient comes, he or she
would be kept on a 30-day home isolation, according to the Central guidelines.
