Bhubaneswar, November 17: Coming down heavily on the Odisha Government,
as many as 28 civil society organisations, which have been demanding a CBI
probe into the mega land and house allotment scam, have demanded that the State
Government make the Dr Taradatt-headed Taskforce report public and punish the
elements involved in this incident according to the law.
“We demand that the Government make public the report of the
three-member Taskforce headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Taradatt,
appointed to probe all allotments of Government land and houses under the
discretionary quota (DQ) in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack since 1995,” said rights
activist Pradip Pradhan.
He said a mega rally would be held in front of the State
Assembly on November 28 to press the demand.
“Dr Taradatt claimed to have submitted the eagerly-awaited
report to the Government on October 31. But the State Government is neither
making it public nor taking any action against persons responsible,” added
Pradhan.
“Since more than 15 days have already elapse since the Taraaatt
committee submitted its report to the Government, why is the Government not
making it public?” questioned Pradhan.
