Mid-air molestation: Cops to examine crew members

Bhubaneswar, February 3: Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissioner of
Police Dr RP Sharma on Tuesday informed that crew members and other
eyewitnesses travelling in the IndiGo Airlines’ Mumbai to Bhubaneswar flight will
be examined into the alleged woman misbehave case reported on January 27.
The incident took place on January 27 on an Indigo flight en
route to Bhubaneswar from Mumbai. The woman alleged that the man tried to touch
her through the gaps in between the seats and repeated the offence for a second
time.
Following the complaint of the victim, the Airfield police
arrested the accused identified as Rabindra Jhunjhunwala. Meanwhile, he was
released on bail.
The accused businessman has been reportedly slapped charges
under Section 354 (A) of the IPC. He was granted bail after giving an
undertaking that he would appear for investigation when asked by the police.
According to sources, the businessman tried to touch the
woman in flight. While the woman ignored his advances on the first occasion,
she reported the matter to the cabin crew when he repeated the act.

Later, when the flight landed at Bhubaneswar Airport, the
cabin crew informed the ground staff of Indigo who intimated the matter to
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The CISF made a preliminary
investigation and reported the incident to Airfield Police which detained the
accused. On the basis of the report filed by the complainant, the businessman
was arrested.
