OSCB now Nabard’s STCC committee member

July 30: The Odisha State Cooperative Bank (OSCB) has been nominated as a
Member of the Committee constituted by the National Bank for Agriculture and
Rural Development (Nabard) for assessment of human resources of Short Term
Cooperative Credit Structure (STCC) in the post of Cooperative Banks
Environment. 
Currently,
the STCC, comprising 33 State Cooperative Banks and 370 Districts Central
Co-operative Banks, is passing through a critical phase of transition. In the
wake of new regulatory norms prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India and more
particularly, adoption of CBS and IT enables products by Cooperative Banks, it
is the utmost importance to have suitable manpower for effective delivery of
banking products and services in the current scenario. The committee is likely
to address this key concern.
The
committee, constituted under chairmanship of Nabard Deputy Managing Director R
Amalorpavanathan, would look into various aspects of human resources
development in Cooperative Banks and also suggest measures to adopt a sound
human resource policy.
OSCB
Managing Director TK Panda has been nominated as Member of this Committee. The
Committee will act upon review of the present status of human resources in
State Cooperative Bank and District Central Cooperative Banks, study of human
resources requirement with special reference to adaptation of CBS and IT
products by Cooperative banks and new businesses, recommend a preferred
organization structure in the banks, assessment of manpower and skill requirement
under various categories of staff for professionalization, examine and
recommend capacity building and training strategy for the staff etc.  
Apart
from Odisha, Cooperative Banks of the States like UP, Maharashtra, Gujarat,
Telangana and Rajasthan have also been nominated as Members of the Committee.
