ED moves court for Seashore assets attachment

Bhubaneswar, Sep 30: The
Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday moved court seeking permission to attach
the Seashore Group’s properties worth Rs 9.60 crore here, sources said.
The ED, , probing the
multi-crore chit fund scam, formally approached the Khurda District and
Sessions Judge Court to this effect to attach two plots in Bhubaneswar and
Angul worth Rs 9 crore of the tainted company and bank deposits of Rs 60.57
lakh in name of Seashore chief Prashant Dash and his brother.
Earlier on two
occasions, the ED had confiscated Rs 242 crore worth of property of the tainted
money circulation company.
The ED on March 31 had
requested the Khurda District and Sessions Court, designated under the
Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, to confiscate property worth Rs 242
crore of Seashore.
Prashant Dash is now
lodged at the Jharpara Special Jail.
