Chinese team for investments meets Chief Secretary

Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: An eight-member Chinese delegation for
new investments in Odisha met Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Odisha Skill
Development Authority Chairman Subrato Bagchi and Development Commissioner R
Balakrishnan at the State Secretariat here on Thursday.
Appreciating the initiative for holding the Make in Odisha
Conclave, the delegation said the State Government’s new Industrial Policy
Resolution (IPR) motivated them to come to Odisha and look for investment
opportunities.
The Chief Secretary appraised them about the specific
facilitating policies in textile, apparel, manufacturing, electronics,
electrical, health, biotech, plastic park, food processing, tourism chemicals
and petrochemicals and assured them all enabling support from the Government.
Padhi also assured them for timely clearance of proposals,
provision of office space, land, 24×7 quality power supply, etc.
Balakrishnan appraised the team about the institutional
arrangements like single-window clearance, land bank and the industry
facilitation centre in IPICOL for providing all support to the investors. He
also asked them to give him a call over telephone or send a WhatsApp message
when any investor faces any difficulty or inordinate delay in transactions of
official matters.
The members of the team expressed their intent for investment
in the State and assured that they would come up with their proposals soon.
The major industries and groups who joined the delegation
included representatives from Comdaq Industries, JK Import & Export,
Sindoz, Total Freight Solutions, China-India Trade and Investment Platform,
M-Day group.
