State Government has released a total of Rs 6.80 crore to five districts for
disbursement of house building assistance to the households whose houses were
damaged due to the recent floods and heavy rain.

The amount was given to the Collectors of Rayagada,
Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.

The highest amount of Rs 4.35 crore was given to Rayagada. It
was followed by Rs 2.15 crore to Kalahandi, Rs 17 lakh to Nabarangpur, Rs 8
lakh to Koraput and Rs 5 lakh to Malkangiri.

A maximum numbers of 404 houses were fully damaged in
Rayagada while in Kalahandi the number was 112.

The amounts were disbursed to the districts on the basis of
the preliminary reports submitted to the government by the respective
collectors.

The Collectors have been asked to ensure proper enumeration
keeping photographs of the damaged houses with the beneficiaries on record and
disburse the amount by way of transfer of money to the beneficiaries’ bank
accounts.

The Government will also provide for assistance for clothing
and utensils to the beneficiaries.
