Cabinet nod for Handlooms, Handicrafts Council in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, September 21, 2017: The State Cabinet chaired by
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved five proposals moved various
departments, including establishment of Handlooms and Handicrafts Development and
Promotion Council to help improve livelihoods of families of weavers and
artisans of the State. 
It also approved implementation of Fire Prevention and Fire
Safety Rules-2017 coordinating and implementing fire protection measures in the
State. Key decisions taken by the Cabinet:
Besides, restructuring of cadre of Odisha Administrative
Services by adding 153 posts also got the nod of the Cabinet.
“The Cabinet approved the restructuring of the Odisha
Administrative Service (OAS) by increasing the cadre strength to 1,711 from the
existing 1,558 and revision of cadre strength of Odisha Finance Service by
increasing it to 800 from present 727 as the increase in the strength,” Chief
Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi told newsmen after the Cabinet meeting.

Restructuring of Odisha Transport Engineering Service and Odisha
Sub-ordinate Transport Engineering Service also got the Cabinet nod.
