The controversial godman was released after he executed bail bonds of Rs 2 lakh each by two local sureties from Barimula in Kendrapara, where he had an ashram.
Roul, who was arrested in August 2015, has earlier got bail in two separate cases registered against him by the Crime Branch of Odisha police. Ever since arrest by the Crime Branch, he was lodged at the Choudwar Circle Jail.
While granting bail, the High Court has imposed restriction on Sarathi’s entry to Barimula Ashram. He has been asked not to influence the victims of the case and not keep in contact with them. He has also been asked to appear in person on each date of the trial of the case.
Earlier in 2017, he was granted bails by the Supreme Court in connection with issuing threats to a woman medico, who was his follower and the Orissa High Court in a case registered against him for his indulgence in criminal activities and cheating people by misusing religious and spiritual practices.
