Bhubaneswar girl to witness Chandrayaan -2 landing with PM Modi

Bhubaneswar: Landing of Chandrayaan -2 on the surface of the moon is getting close day by day, and Sharanya Nanda of DAV Chandrasekarpur here along with 59 other students are selected from all across India who will all witness the historic moment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

ISRO had conducted a ‘Space Quiz’ for students. The child with the most number of correct answers in 10 minutes emerged the winner. The Chandrayaan -2 is scheduled to land on September 7, 2019.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had conducted a nationwide Online Quiz among the students of Classes-VIII to X to mark the Chandraayan 2 success.

Sharanya Nanda, a Class-IX student of DAV Public School,  Chandrasekarpur has qualified in the prestigious contest and invited by ISRO to witness the landing of the same on the wee hours of September 7 along with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi from a ISTRAC control room at Bengaluru.

Two students each from every State as well as Union Territory are invited for the spectacular event.

Sharanya answered all 20 tough questions correct based on space research within 10 minutes. Sharanya is the daughter of Samir Kumar Nanda, a senior officer at NTPC, Kaniha and Sulabha Nanda.

In 2017, she had got a commendation letter from the Prime Minister for her enthusiastic participation in Swachhta Mission.

School Principal Dr KC Satapathy and others congratulated Sharanya for the scholastic achievement which has brought laurels for the state as well as for the DAV fraternity.
