29 cops from Odisha get President’s police medal

Bhubaneswar: A total of 29 policemen, including Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Raosaheb Punjabrao Koche from Odisha have been selected for the President’s police medals for distinguished and meritorious service and gallantry, announced on the eve of the Republic Day.

According to a notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, ADG RP Koche and Vigilance Directorate Assistant Sub-Inspector Manoranjan Samal have been selected for President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

At least 16 police personnel have won Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG).

They are two Sub-Inspectors (SIs) – Rajendra Choudhury and Gagan Bihari Nayak, two Havildars  -Krushnalok Behra, Sukhi Ram Rana, eight CTs – Murali Manohar Dash, Maheshwar Dhakad, Manohar Bhumia, Siba Prasad Nayak, Bhabani Shankar Patli,  Arjuna Chandra Kurami, Binaya Kumar Mishra, Rajesh Kumar Dewan and four Commandos – Ganesh Dharua, Rabindra Kumar Parmanik, Padmanav Ray and Madan Mohan Pradhan.

Similarly, eleven personnel have selected for Police Medalfor Meritorious Service. They are IUCAW Additional SP Biswanath Mishra, Burla BTI Commandant Balakrushna Nanda, Crime Branch CID In-charge DSP Bikash Ranjan Behura, Vigilance In-charge DSP Susanta Kumar Biswal, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Inspector Ashis Kumar Mishra, Bhubaneswar Vigilance Division Sb-Inspector Dibakar Samantasinghar, ASI Santanu Kumar Dash, Vigilance ASI Pranab Kumar Nayak, Havildar Chitta Ranjan Ratha, Constables Narendra Kumar Rout and Sk Dawood.

They will be decorated with the medals on August 15 this year.
