Bhubaneswar: All banks in Odisha except those in the limits of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Chhatrapur, Berhampur and Koraput town , will function from 8 am to 2 pm till completion of the lockdown. The customer service hours will be till 8 am till 1 pm.
The Odisha Government has issued an order to this effect.
Notably, all the State Government offices in the State except Cuttack, Puri, Chhatrapur, Berhampur, Koraput and Bhubaneswar city and town limits were functioning in the morning hours between 7 am and 1 pm from April 10. The Government has ordered to run offices in these districts in the morning hours till June 15.
“Opening of the banks in early hours is likely to avoid heavy rush in bank premises ensuring proper social distancing. Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 22 (2) (h) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the State Executive Committee do hereby order that all the banks operating in the State of Odisha except those in the limits of Cuttack, Purim Chhatrapur, Berhampur, Koraput and Bhubaneswar cities/towns shall function from 8 am to 2 pm with customer service hours from 8 am to 1 pm till lockdown period is over,” said a Government order.
“It is felt necessary to reschedule the working hours of all banks operating in the State to morning hours in the interest of customers,” it said.
