Prasanthigram, February 16: Two new state-of-the-art echocardiography machines worth Rs 3.6 crore were installed at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS), Prasanthigram on Tuesday on the occasion of Basanta Panchami (Saraswati Puja).
Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust Managing Trustee RJ Rathnakar inaugurated the machines in the presence of SSSIHMS Director Dr Gurumurthy, Cardiology (HOD) Dr Iyer, CTVS (HOD) Dr Neelam Desai and Anaesthesiology (HOD) Dr. Rajan Anand.
The echocardiography machines, Philips EPIQ CVx, are the latest, best and high-end in the world. The machines with their advanced features provide cutting edge imaging solutions, more user-friendly interface and better workflow efficiency.
The systems are equipped with one-touch live 3d imaging, automatic strain calculator for all four chambers of the heart, automatic EF calculator and one-touch multiple axis views of the heart chambers. The systems also come equipped with advanced transducer technology which provides multiple anatomical views. All these features help the cardiologist and cardiac surgeons make better and precise decisions with regards to patient care.

One of the machines will be installed in the Cardiology Outpatient Department, while the other will be operated by the department of Cardio Vascular Thoracic Surgery.
