Odisha CM urges people to strictly follow Covid norms for ‘zero infection’

Bhubaneswar, March 14: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik once again sought people’s cooperation in combating Covid 19 pandemic with an aim to achieve ‘Zero Infection’.

“Zero Covid infection is our aim,” said Patnaik in his address to the people of the State. He also urged everyone to follow all Covid guidelines.

With your cooperation, we have succeeded in fighting Corona pandemic in a big way. But, as I had said before, we should not be self-complacent in the matter of diseases. Even as the number of daily positive cases remains below 100-mark, still we should work together to achief ‘zero infection’,” the Chief Minister told in a video message to people.

The Chief Minister appealed this in the wake of Covid situation worsening in States like Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

He said the only way to remain away from Covid 19 infection is to remain alert always. “We all have to use masks appropriately whenever we go outside. We mush wash hands with soap when we return home. Social distancing has to be maintained by all. We must not visit public places like bazaar, haat etc without any work,” said Patnaik.

He said strict execution of Covid guidelines will be the real tribute to Covid 19 warriors who lost their lives fighting the pandemic.

With 71 new cases being reported in the State in the last 24 hours, the active case tally now stood at 652 in Odisha.
